Newbie Game Project Rules: (Most of this borrowed from Gaming World game and demo forum)
Game and Demo is a forum designed to release and advertise your projects.  Game projects should be of your own creation and should have some sort of general progress.

Topics that are allowed:

-Topics releasing or revealing your project.
-Topics asking for help, walk through, or download links for fellow user projects.

Topics that are NOT allowed:

-Any topic advertising a commercial game (Commercial Games forum).
-Any topic discussing a commercial game (Commercial Games forum).
-Any topic requesting help/walk through in any commercial game (Commercial Games forum).
-Any topic advertising/requesting resources (Game Resources forum).
-Any topic requesting money donations.
-Any topic/poll asking users to tell everyone which game they think is the best, which game they're anticipating the most, etc. These are pointless in that they are too subjective, stroke peoples' egos, and end up causing arguments over different viewpoints.

Tagging your topics and rules for individual topics:

-Topics that are advertising, or a work in progress should be tagged with [WIP]. These topics require at least 2 paragraphs, 4-5 sentences each,  of information.  You are also required to have at least 4 screen shots showing some form of in-game play. The screen shots need to have variety, posting four screen shots of one location isn't counted as four screen shots.

-Topics containing a download link should be tagged with [DEMO],  [RELEASE], or [ENGINE] respectively. These topics should contain at least a paragraph explaining your project as well as at least four screen shots.  The more info the better.

-Topics asking for help, walk through, or download links for missing games should be tagged with [HELP]. These topics should present a simple question and you're expected to answer; not stray away from the question or spam the thread.

Posting rules:

-Criticism should be constructive (as in it actually gives advice on how to improve).  If you have something non-constructive/non-positive to say, then just don't say it if you want to avoid trouble.
-Put effort in your posts. We want to cut down the "Woah amazing" kind of posts because the purpose of this forum is to give constructive feedback to amateur developers. If you are able to tell what exactly you like and why, it could help the developers to improve their games even further. For example, posting "Your game is very impressive. I especially like the way the maps are put together, and the menu and battle layout look clean and well thought out" would be fine enough. The more you can say, the better.
-Don't backseat mod. If you see a topic which is against the rules, don't spam it with replies like "Wrong forum." Just ignore it, moderators will handle it.

Plagiarism:

Any member who is caught plagiarizing, whether stealing music, characters, etc without the permission of the original author will face severe consequences. They will be given an opportunity to reply to the accusation of plagiarism and try to defend themselves, but if they do not, or their rebuttal is clearly flawed and plagiarism has been proved to occur beyond a doubt, then this member will be banned. Plagiarism is no petty crime.

As far as graphics go, this is thrown up in the air.  Using rips are, unfortunately, common practice.  So long as you do not claim someone elses graphics are yours and you try your hardest to credit the original creator, we won't care.
